Hamburg
Arrests for DWI in Blasdell more than doubled last year, as the village was able to put more enforcement patrols on the road.Lt. Joseph Gramaglia said there were 41 drunk driving arrests in 2013, including four felony arrests, compared to a total of 18 arrests, including five felonies, in 2012. Village police had 23 alcohol-related arrests in 2011.
“The hope is that the message will get through that if you drink and drive, you will be stopped and arrested,” Gramaglia said. “Aside from the cost associated with a DWI, the motorist’s primary concern before you drive drunk should be with injuring or killing someone else on the roadways.”
