More than 120 youngsters ages 7 to 17 from military families will attend Operation Purple Camp from Sunday through Friday at Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center in Angola. The program is open to children of active duty, National Guard and Reserve forces.
Taking part in the program are two military chaplains who served in Iraq and Afghanistan – Maj. Joel Terragnoli, of Williamsville, deputy state chaplain of the New York Army National Guard; and Capt. Alex Knowles, of Lockport, of the Army National Guard, who also is executive director of Pioneer Camp.
