Where We Live: Orchard Park

A section of South Abbott Road, just north of Newton Road, will be closed starting Monday, through approximately Aug. 31, for the replacement of the bridge. A detour will be posted.

Lake Shore Savings Bank on Union Road has won the June community beautification award from the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce. The bank building, located at the northern entrance to Orchard Park, recently received a face lift. Major renovations include updating all columns and accent lighting, constructing a tower over the entrance and updating the drive-thru roof line and landscaping.

Also this week:

• The Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the municipal center, 4295 S. Buffalo St.

• The town Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the municipal center.

• The town Planning Board will conduct a work session at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the municipal center.

• Mary Stahl with the Jim Calabrese Trio will play at 7 p.m. today in the Pavilion behind the Orchard Park Middle School on Lincoln Avenue, and West of the Mark will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
