More than 100 members of the 107th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard have been deployed to Southwest Asia as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The unit members, based at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, will conduct personnel and cargo transports as well as medical evacuations.
The deployment will be several months long, according to the unit’s command. This is the second time in two years the unit has been deployed to Southwest Asia.
