An architectural firm will soon begin preparing a design plan for a Rails to Trails project in the village of Springville.
Village Board members authorized Mayor William Krebs to ask Joy Kuebler Landscape Architect to begin the design and seek a grant Monday night.
The firm, based in North Tonawanda, will work on a plan to convert railroad tracks to a bicycle path from Waverly to Franklin streets.
Board members also scheduled a public interest meeting about streetscape improvements on Franklin Street.
Village officials applied for a state grant of up to $250,000 in May to let business owners enhance their properties. They set the meeting for noon June 25 in the village government building at 65 Franklin St.
