West Seneca

The town’s Emergency Operations Center debuts Tuesday in the Ebenezer Building at 900 Mill Road.

A ribbon cutting and open house begins at 5:30 p.m.

John Gullo, the town’s disaster coordinator, will manage the center, which will serve as the primary location for decision-making and planning, and a hub for communications and dispatch, as well as storage for equipment and supplies. Emergency operations had been conducted out of an old garage.

It also will house the Community Emergency Response Team, and be used as a meeting place for emergency personnel, and for emergency response and preparedness training.

The building, a former elementary school, is owned by the West Seneca School District, and also houses some district staff and departments.
