Former nationally-ranked junior golfer and motivational speaker Larry “One-Armed Bandit” Alford will be featured at the sixth annual Buffalo Amputee Golf Classic June 30 at Brierwood Country Club, 5324 Rogers Road, Hamburg.
Alford, a Houston, Texas, resident who lost his arm in an auto accident, will challenge players to best him on a par-three hole at Brierwood. He also will speak at the tournament dinner and with various faculty and student groups at D’Youville College on the following day.
Fee for the tournament is $110 and includes golf, cart, lunch, use of the driving range, open bar, a three-course dinner, an optional short-game clinic and entertainment. Fee for the dinner only is $45. Proceeds provide scholarships for amputees and their families.
