The replica trolley stop at Legion and Clark streets will be dedicated next Saturday morning by the Village of Hamburg and Imagine Hamburg.
The 11:30 a.m. ceremony, which is open to the public, will recognize those who gave their time, money and materials toward completion of the project. It also will include presentation, by historian Jack Edson, about the early trolley line that linked the village to South Buffalo from 1901 to 1932.
“We wanted an opportunity to celebrate with the community, and to thank those responsible for their tireless efforts in making this replica trolley stop a reality,” said Dale Neseman, chairman of Imagine Hamburg.
The dedication also will honor the late Donald “Duke” Spittler, whose son, Chip, spent more than 1,000 hours building the post-and-beam structure by hand in honor of his father.
A reception will be held afterward.
