Woodlawn Beach State Park and Hamburg Town Park will open for the season Saturday, weather permitting, according to the town Department of Youth, Recreation and Senior Services.

Certified lifeguards will be on duty from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. through Labor Day, with exceptions for inclement weather or other circumstances that require closing the beaches, such as water quality.

Woodlawn Beach State Park , 3580 Lakeshore Road, is open to the public, with facilities including vending machines, lavatories and changing areas, along with a full service bar and restaurant on the beach. Also at Woodlawn is the Pirates Cove Bounce Playground, which costs $5 for an all-day pass. Parking at Woodlawn costs $7 per car from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Hamburg Town Park Beach, 4420 Lakeshore Road, is restricted to town residents.

Facilities at Hamburg Town Park Beach include outdoor dining areas, a snack bar, lavatories and changing rooms for Town of Hamburg residents.

Parking permits cost $15 with proof of residency and $5 for senior citizens, and are required for parking. Permits may be purchased at the Town Park Fitness Center or in the Town Clerk’s Office at Hamburg Town Hall. The boat launch at Hamburg Town Park also is open. Launch permits cost $75 for adults and $50 for senior citizens (over 60), and $40 per additional vehicle.
