An East Aurora man was charged late Wednesday with felony driving while intoxicated after he was seen driving over the curb at an Elma intersection, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported.
A deputy on patrol saw a vehicle drive over the curb at the intersection of Seneca Street and Transit Road shortly before midnight, authorities said.
John A. Yager, 29, was pulled over on Seneca Street, interviewed and asked to perform sobriety tests.
Yager submitted to a chemical breath test, which revealed he had a blood-alcohol content of .20, deputies said. He was charged with a felony DWI because of a prior offense, deputies said, as well as other, unspecified, traffic violations.
Yager’s vehicle was towed from the scene and placed under a hold, while he was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, pending arraignment in Elma Town Court.
