Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday, the Roycroft Inn has added two parties to its traditional celebration.Celtic festivities today and Monday coincide with the debut of the hotel’s newly renovated fireside bar. And, if luck will have it, a custom-made brew will debut during the celebrations.
“We’re working with Flying Bison to create our very own beer,” said spokeswoman Lynn Kinsella. “Hopefully, we’ll have it there on St. Patrick’s Day.”
For the last few weeks, the “Craftsman Lounge” was closed while floors were polished and a wall, which separated the bartender area from the more open fireplace gathering room, was removed.
The new look was ready in time for last Friday’s Irish “Green Tie” dinner. The curious can come for a look and join two new events: Today’s Celtic Brunch, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a “rumpus & hooley” party at 7 p.m. Monday, which will feature acoustic guitar, accordion and cello music by the Green Tie Gang.
Money raised from drink sales will go to the fire department, which is building a new fire station. “It’s pretty exciting times for them,” Kinsella said of the fire department.
